PetroFix Newsletter March 2022

Cleanup Goals Achieved at Formerly Used Defense Site

This case study reviews a former Naval Auxiliary Air Station located in the Outer Banks region of North Carolina. After a thorough evaluation of viable remedies for petroleum contamination, the project team opted for an in-situ injection of PetroFix® Remediation Fluid to remediate the contaminants through a combination of sorption and bioremediation by adding electron acceptors. Spotlight on Support: Tyler Harris

The diverse range of products and solutions within the environmental remediation industry demand a level of support that includes access to professionals with a keen focus and hands-on experience. Enter Tyler Harris, PetroFix Design Specialist for REGENESIS®. Harris joined REGENESIS 6 years ago and creates remedial designs for clients with petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated groundwater. Additionally, Tyler provides clients with a wide range of application techniques and recommendations for using PetroFix, a dual-function remedial amendment which removes hydrocarbons from the dissolved phase by adsorbing them on to activated carbon particles, and then stimulates hydrocarbon biodegradation by adding electron acceptors. Learn more about Tyler by reading his spotlight article.

Upcoming Webinar: Monica Young, Senior Project Manager at CGRS, Inc.

In this webinar we are pleased to have as a special guest speaker Monica Young, Senior Project Manager at CGRS, Inc. Her presentation will discuss a wide range of sites where CGRS has successfully applied PetroFix liquid carbon amendment to address petroleum hydrocarbon impacts. Application methods and results using direct push injection among other application approaches to reach Tier IV risk-based closure will be discussed. She will be joined by Todd Herrington, Global PetroFix Product Manager at REGENESIS, who will share how in-situ technologies were adapted for remedial solutions at these sites. This webinar starts on Wednesday, May 4th, 2022 at 11am Pacific / 2pm Eastern.

Webinar Recording Now Available: Jack Shore

In the third and final webinar in the series ‘New Treatment Options for Petroleum Hydrocarbon Impacted Sites’, Jack Shore explains how PetroFix® is being used to pre-coat aggregate used in utility corridors and around Underground Storage Tanks (USTs). This creates underground activated carbon filters to reduce the impact of future losses, minimize mobilization and suppress the formation of vapors. This approach is widely applicable on petrol filling stations, pipelines and industrial sites. Learn more by accessing the webinar recording.

You’re Invited: Don’t Miss Hops and Props 2!

REGENESIS invites you to break away from the Chlorinated Conference and enjoy an evening of live music featuring Flashback Heart Attack, the award-winning 80’s cover band along with local beer and private access to aviation history hosted in the Palm Springs Air Museum. After a long week of scientific talks, platform presentations, meetings and posters, it will be time to cut loose! Live Music – Beer – Aviation – Remediation. It’s guaranteed to be a night you won’t forget.
